MICR is a great time and cost-saving feature for users that print checks for multiple businesses. The MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) module gives you the ability to print the entire check (company, bank, payee and MICR encoded line) on blank check stock. The same blank check stock can be used for an unlimited number of companies or multiple checking accounts within the same company. The stock is much less costly than (and eliminates the need for) preprinted checks, it greatly reduces storage space requirements, and the liability of having pre-printed check stock on hand is non-existent.
This software requires a MICR Toner Cartridge for your “check” printer. The magnetic toner allows the bank’s sorter/reader equipment to accurately scan and process the MICR encoding on the bottom of the check.
